Where a driving school loses time

The phone rings during a lesson

The instructor is next to a student on a roundabout when the next student calls to book. The call waits until lunch, and then the instructor rings five students back in a row.

The student wants to drive with Lena

Lena has taught the student since the first lesson and works Monday to Thursday. Nobody wants to switch instructors before the driving test, so someone searches her schedule every time the student books.

Lessons that never got paid

Lessons are booked over the phone and paid for afterwards. A student who stops after five lessons has sometimes paid for three, and someone has to chase the rest.

Each instructor has their shifts and the lessons they teach. For each lesson you decide whether students pick an instructor, get whoever is free, or choose either. A student who picks Lena only sees Lena's free times.

The day at the school

Instructors' shifts decide which times can be booked

Instructors have their shifts in the calendar, including shifts that repeat every week. When an instructor adds an afternoon off, their times disappear from your website. The day's list shows every lesson with the student, the instructor and the student's comment, and each instructor can subscribe to their own lessons in their phone's calendar.

Payment and reminders

Paid before the student gets behind the wheel

Students pay by Swish or card when they book, and the money goes to your own Stripe account. A reminder goes out by email or text the day before, and after the lesson a link to book the next one, with the same instructor if the student chose them. A company paying for an employee's lessons can be invoiced.

Common questions

Can we sell lesson packages?

No, not today. Each lesson is booked and paid for on its own. To reward students who take a lot of lessons, create a discount code that only applies to driving lessons.

Can a student book the same time every week?

No, not today. Students book one lesson at a time. After each lesson a message can go out with a link to book again, with the lesson and the student's details already filled in, and the instructor if the student chose them.

Can the car be booked as a separate resource?

No, not today. A lesson books an instructor. If each instructor has their own car, the instructor's shifts are enough. If several instructors share fewer cars, you keep track of the cars yourselves.

Can we sell the risk education courses?

Yes, as an ordinary activity with a number of places per start time, where each student books a place and pays straight away. It is booked without choosing an instructor. Denira doesn't report completed courses to the Swedish Transport Agency, so you keep doing that as you do now.

Can a theory course over several evenings be booked in one go?

No, not today. A booking is for one time. You can set up each evening as its own time that students book separately.

Can we book a student who phones in?

Yes. You book for the student in Denira and pick the instructor, or let Denira take the first available and change the instructor afterwards. If the student pays on site, you mark the booking as paid.
